B.J. Humphreys
Retired
Although retired from the active practice of law, B. J. continues to be involved in the law firm and an "of counsel" capacity. As one of the most "seasoned" members of the Saginaw County Bar Association B. J. has been an attorney since 1957.
B. J.'s legal experience began in 1957 when he came to work with his father-in-law, Maurice Lamson, in the firm of Lamson Humphreys in downtown Saginaw. Over the years, B.J.'s office changed and relocated but, ultimately, Lamson Humphreys, PLC, returned to downtown Saginaw in January of 2020, bringing B.J.'s practice full circle.
B. J. attended Wayne State University and after two years was accepted as a student at the Detroit College of Law. His studies were interrupted by his service with the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. B. J. returned and graduated from law school in 1957.
B. J. has proudly served his community in many roles. His active involvement in organizations and entities. Recognition for his work has resulted in the award of an Honorary Doctorate of Law from the Detroit College of Law, a Distinguished Medallion from Saginaw Valley State University as well as the Distinguished Alumni Award. He also received the Saginaw Community Foundation Frank N. Anderson Spirit of Philanthropy Award.
